Sour Spirit

Confession: there have been more start-stops to this bio than there are in Fugazi’s entire post-Repeater catalog. “Sour Spirit are a cross between Sun Ra and Lightning Bolt that….” hmm, no. “Sour Spirit, an entanglement of the fuzz ‘n bang of pre-fame grunge and a Yoko Ono unmastered mix tape…” Nah, I’ve got it: Sour Spirit are two brothas who are brothers making waves of harsh noise with free jazz flourishes, playing within and in spite of traditional rock structures. Meets Unwound. And though there are flashes of sounds that recall something that feels familiar, that familiarity is not nostalgic, it’s primordial. See them live, change your life. -Alex Smith . More info: https://sourspirit.bandcamp.com/

Street Rat

Street Rat is not a person but a cognitive and spiritual exploration of the mysteries of life. It is the eye on the ground that sees and translates all intersecting issues as they merge, explode, dissolve, and implode. A love and hatred for humanity and an embrace to nature. Always morphing and always growing.

Gladys Harlow, the vessel, is from Miami, FL currently wandering in old Philadelphia haunts. She is a sound based performer, visual artist, writer, comedian, and activist experimenting with found objects, contact mics, textures, range, analog formats, present moments, and empathy. Through raw avant-garbage performance art, she aims to breakdown barriers of fear, social capital, mental instability, environmental injustice, and economic disparity to regain our human rights, protect the land, and find our deep truth.
