World Noise Fusion has arrived!!! Just what you've been waiting for!!!

"Il Bagus Corral" captures Suara Liwet in a live recording session at Bagus (Paris) and Il Corral (Los Angeles). Marc plays percussion (mostly Javanese gamelan instruments) with a bit of guitar and voice. Bob plays electronics with some Gambuh Suling (Balinese flute) and Shanai (North Indian horn)

Marc and Bob first met in Yogyakarta (Java, Indonesia) in 2003 while participating in the 8th annual Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival. They took part in a class by experimental Javanese composers, and collaborated live at the festival. They met up again in 2006 in Los Angeles and Paris, and these recordings are the best work of that period. It's a balance of percussive grooves and noisy electronic textures, with some wailing horns thrown in for spice.

while we were in Surakarta, Java, we had dinner with some friends on a sidewalk cafe, literally on the sidewalk under a tarp. the specialty of that area is Nasi Liwet, which would normally be pronounced Lee-Whet, but since it is from Solo (Surakarta's nickname) it is pronounced Lee-woot....
